HI! ANKARA VOLUNTEER TEAM (AGT)
AGT which is a student group at METU aims to build a bridge
between university students and other segments of society, and to help the
society in all areas. AGT has lots of projects, but the most important one is
university-home project. At this project, they go homes on Sundays and
Saturdays. Volunteers who is at university-home project not only help
elementary school students about their social and cultural development but also
help their lessons and homeworks. There are two main reasons that I would like
to join this group. First of all, I think that I can both improve myself about
teaching lessons and help the children who are in need of help. Secondly, most
importantly, it has a bond of love between the children and university
students. We start to see them as if they were our siblings when the days pass.
In addition to this, AGT organizes a festival for students at 23th April National
Sovereignty and Chidren’s Day. They spend time with students at METU Devrim
Stadium. The children become happy so much. I believe that these emotions are
worth living.
